“Freeman's Journal” states that Mr. Bonar Law will make an important statement in the House of Commons on Monday with reference'to the application of Dominion Home Rule to Ireland. The Journal believes that the Government contemplates the abandonment of both coercion hud the partition of Ireland. LONDON, August 15. Dublin messages report that Irish Unionists Alliance announces it repudiates Homo Rule-. It states the grounds are that Home Rule would mean the creation of an independent* Irish Republic, or else would mean a civil war. LONDON, August 14. The castle lias decided to have the Lord Mayor ojf Cork and other Sinn Feiners court roartialled. This is os the result of a Sinn Fein Law C-urt being held . Possibly they will ho deported. A nuinber/of men in Irish gaols who were hunger striking are being removed to British prisons. LONDON, August 14. Fifty armed men in rowing boats, stopped a flotilla of petrol laden military boats at Carrickon, Shannon, and captuded the entire cargo of 1400 gallons. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) A party of soldiers in Dublin, who last night, were subjected to petty annoyances by the crowd fired volleys along Capel Street. Several persons were wounded, also a soldier. Domain carried resolutions protesting against the British Government’s treatment of Dr. Mamr.x. The protest was cabled to Mr Lloyd George and the President of the Irish Republic. Demonstrations on the same lines in Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart acted similarly.
