CHRISTCHUR'JH, This Day.—The Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committec will meet at Wellington on Friday next to select one of tour candidates for the special war scholarship offered by the Rhodes trustees. The candidate from Canterbury College is Mr. S. P. McCallum, who has an excellent record both on iho scholastic and in the athletic and social sides. ll <s fought at Armentieres and at tlie first battle of the Somrae, where he was seriously wounded while occupying an advanced post. He is at present a master at the Christchurch Boy's High School, and President of the Canterbury College Students' Association.. The Rhodes Scholarship candidate from Otago University is Mr 11. G. Ryburri. He won the Junior University Scholarship and tba Senior University Scholarship in Mathematics and the Beverley Scholarship in Advanced Mathematics. He is a representative hockey player and is connected with various University societies. He was at the war.
