CURIOUS WILLS

SOME ECCENTRIC DIRECTIONS. An American testator who was f.u ultra-patriot bequeathed iris corpse to a* patriotic society, directed that his skin be tanned and stretched across a drum, that his leg bones be made into drumsticks, and that one of his heirs should attend on every July 4th at the Bunker Hill Monument and play “Yankee Doodle” with the aforesaid drumsticks on the human drum head. In another case the testator wrote his own will, commanding Iris executors to have fiddle strings made from Ids intestines, and that certain parts of his body be made into smelling salts and other parts vitrified into lenses. He explained that he disliked funeral pomps, and wanted to be useful even after his death. The Court sustained his will.
