Tlie members of (lie Blackball Division oi Hie bt. .Jehu Ambulance Brigade will be in attendance at the football match to-inor-iow for the emergency treatment of injuries. The divisional members will be fully equipped with ambulance material; including in their outfit a transport litter. In this branch of ambulance organisation there are the most up-to-date methods for the transport of persons; in sickness or accident. Tlie litter is the- first of its kind in New Zealand, being built in Greymouth. Tlte value of these transport carirages are manifold for emergency transport. Tlie litter consist-i of a two-wheeled undercarriage with elliptical springs, the axle of the carriage being cranked, so as to allow the stretcher-bearers to pass between the wheel- with patient and stretcher. When the stretcher is placed on the carriage an adjustable hood is then placed the patient, the leg's are raised, and the patient is then taken to his required destination. Tlie value of transport of this nature at sports gatherings, isolated industries and communities is very great. It is the intention of the Te Kinga Sub-Centre, with the co-operation of the other unit branches of the oi s? anise Bon and the public, to ouirnlv about twelve of these lit-t'-'rs fo-p the town and country industries.
