i NEW YORK, July 23. The Resolute wan the fourth race. (Per Press Extraordinary.) ' (jiteceivea this dav at 12.20 p.m.) . NEW YORK, July 22. Yachting experts have pointed out that the Shamrock, which,was expected to b> a good sa lev in a heavy wind, and the Resolute a better boat m a 1 ght wind, demonstrated their ability to sail in both kinds of weather. The Shamrock sailed to victory in the second race in the lightest bretz r :S, while the Resolute won in a twelve knot breeze, showing remarkable speed. despite the Shamrock's greater spread of canvas. The fourth race will be sailed on July 23rd. Sir Thos Lipton in a statement saii "The Resolute's victory means that we have a good fight on our hands which is just what I want. Three straight victories was something which never appealed to me."
