An outward passenger by the express this morning was Mrs. Dinsdala, ■of Rewanui; who is making a holiday trip to England.
Sergt.-Major Walker of ihe io.cl Defence Office, left for Christchurch ; this morning. He will return to Greymouth next Thursday.
Mr. F. Carr, of Auckland, who lias been on a visit to Rev. Canon ami Mrs. Carr, returned by the Otira express this morning.
The Rev. A. J. Farnell, who has taken charge of the combined districts of Cobcieii and .Runanga in the Anglican Church, will preach at those places to-morrow.
Mr. C. Nissen, President of the Greymouth Boxing Association, left by the/express this morning en route to Ha/tings,'where he will attend the boxir'g contests to be decided on Tuesday.
Rev. Father Eccleton, for many years in Reef ton, and who "is now doing mission .work throughout New Zealand, arrived on Thursday .evening. He left for Hokitika this morning to hold missions at Rimu, Ru»tapu and Ross.
Mr.- and Mrs. C. W. Cooke, of Cowper Street, leave for Christchurch on Tuesday morning. Tliey will make their home in the City of the Plains. They will carry with them the best of good wishes of a large circle of friends.
i The death took" place yesterlay of a very old West Coaster in the person of Mr. James Kerr, at the Old
Ppoele's Home, Kurnara. The deceased had been an inmate for some seven or eight months, and for many years previous had been a respected resident of Kanieri district. Decease! had attained the very ripe age of 89 years,' and has no relatives in the district.
