ALLEGED DESTRUCTION. MINISTER’S REPLY. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This day. Hon. Mr. Coates, Acting Minister of Defence, referring to the statement that the Department was wantonly destroying the good clothing used by the army during the war, said that old, insanitary and nmveaiv.ble tunics elc. were being examined by the Board and sold bv tender as rags. He was investigating the position fully, and meanwhile no further action for the disposal of clothing tvould be taken.
