WAR MEMORIAL
lIOKITIKA, This J;ay. A representative meeting was Held in the Town Hall last night, in* Mayor presiding, to discuss a suitable war memorial for Wcstland. . Several suggestions were made, but nothing dennite was decided. A committee was appointed to go into the matter .and report' at the nexs meeting. Mr. D. J/ was elected secretary, and Mr. Ar A. Andrewes treasurer. . ST.-MARY'S CLUB. The inaugural meeting of St. Mary's Club was held in the Club Rooms lasc night, when there was a fair attendance. Mr. Neil Warren presided. Addresses were given by the ■ Chairman (Mr. Wormington), liev. Bean Tubman, and Mr. P. J. McCarthy, touching the advantages of such a society. It was resolved to resuscitate the Society. Dean Tubman was elected Fatr<m and Spiritual Adviser, Mr. J. upward president. Mr Howe, vice-presid-ent, Mr. V. Toomey secretary, and Mr. McCarthy treasurer. A strong committee was elected. Several members signified their intention of joining.
