THE FIRST CALL.
GREYMOUTH FIRE BRIGADE CALLED GET YESTERDAY. - The 4 Greymouth F ire Brigade called out by an alanu of fire for the first time this year at 5.20 P-m. yesterday. It appears that'’' smoke was seen issuing from rear promises in Arney Street and the alarm was given at the central station. A full attendance of the brigade was quickly on the scene nndex- Superintendent Clarke. It was found that an outhouse belonging to Mr McCarthy, was on fire. The conflagration": was soon under complete control, thanks to the promptitude of the brigade in responding to the ‘ call. It appears that tar in the shed .boiled over and caught alight.. At no ! period of the-.fire were the, surroundihg buildings in danger.
