CHAUTAUQUA
CONCLUDING SESSION
The Chautauqua season was brought to a successful conclusion on Saturday night in the presence of a large audience. Dr. 0. Giesel, who had gained great popularity by her oratorical powers spoke in the afternoon on "The House Behind the Man, 1 ' and in tho evening on "Community Housekeeping." She held her audience's closest "aUeniton right flirough and there is no doubt that those who had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Oiesel's lectures went, away intellectually refreshed. The Fenwick-Newell Concert Party supplied an excellent musical programme. Miss Smillie announced that next year Sir Oliver Lodge and Mr. William Jennings Bryan, the well-known American orator and politician would tour the Dominion for Chautauqua. The .announcement was greeted with loud applause. Arrangements were made for next year's season in Greymouth. It was decided to have sixty guarantors and twenty immediately came forward. Several members of tho Chautauqua Party visited Lake Kanieri yesterday and were greatly impressed with the beautiful scenery.
