BOWLING.

(By “B Up”)

For the first time during the past two weeks members of the Greymoutn Bowling Club were en* abled to have a game yesterday] afternoon on their green in Shakespeare Street. Indeed it was a pleasing sight to see bo many bowlers taking advantage of the fine day., The green was playing as well as could be expected after so much rain. No. 1 rink was playing exceedingly well, with the result that some excellent play was witneissed. Six rinks representing the Greymouth Club are journeying to Hokitika on Saturday afternoon, and given fine w eather the outing should be a most enjoyable one. The following rinks have been selected by Mr. James Ring: Messrs Bishop, Mclndoe, Aldridge, and Blackwood (skip). Messrs Sharp, Mellor, J. Fletcher, and Renai (skip). Messrs J. F. White, M. Fogarty, Mollroy and Buck (skip). Messrs F. White, Latta, Wilkes, and Ring (skip). Messrs Wisie, Morgan, Christie, and Blair (skip).

Messrs F. Barrowman', Denton, Baxter, and M. Phillips (skip). Members are reminded that the train leaves Greymouth 1 at 1.5 p.m. Tickets may be obtained oh the itrairL;

“B Up” Understands that ad effort is being made by the committee of the Greymouth Club to make improvements to the pavilion: and erect a billiard table for the convenience of members. This is a step in the right direction, providing that the club is not saddled with any further liabilities., The West Coast tournament, which will be played on the Greymouth Club’s green next month, is creating a great deal 1 of interest. A record number of entries is expected. A rink representing the Lyttelton Bowling Club has entered for the full rink and pairs. Entries close this evening at 8 o’clock with the acting-secretary, Mr. W. Blair, or Mr. Jas 1 . Ring.
