To be run under the New Zealand Rules of Trotting. 1 Placed horses, either at Westport or at this meeting, if nominated for any event at this meeting, may be nominated for a higher class on the second day of the meeting. Such nomination may be m ide at any time up to TEN MINUTES alter the finish of the last day of the first day of the meeting. Amateur riders as defined by the New Zealand Rules of Trotting. Definition of Local Race.—A race open to horses which have been in one of the Counties of Buller, Inangahua, Westland or Grey, or any West Coast Borough, for at least three months prior to the race, and owned by residents of the said Counties or Boroughs. (A lessee of bailee, shall not be deemed to own a horse within this condition.) . ; The Committee to be sole judges whether a horse is qualified or not, and their decision is to he final. The Committee reserve the right to refuse any nomination without giving any explanation. Rule 196: Rules of Trotting.
