Lowden, of the Presbyterian Church, Reef ton, has accepted a call in the Auckland district. We understand that the rev. gentleman's final service in Reef ton will be on the 10th November.

Miss K. Mitchell, who for some considerable time was in the Money Order Department of the local Post Office, but of late in the Wahganui branch, has, owing ito iindifferent health, been under Dr Morkane in Christchurch lately, and is expected to arrive here to-night by the Otira expresß. The many friends of Mrs Grooby will regret to hear of her death which occurred this morning. The deceased was a native of Hokitika, and lived for some time at Westport. She was 49 years of age. Her husband pre-deceased her nine years ago, and she leaves a family of four sons and two daughters. She is survived by six brothers and two sisters. Mr W. Cochrane, Shakespeare Street, is a brother. The late Mrs Grooby had been ailing for some time. The death took place at the Reef ton Hospital on Friday afternoon of Mrs F. A. Bonifacjj, !the yourig wife (of 'out well-known townsman* Mr Fred Boniface, and only child of Mrs and the late Mr W. Topffer, very old and highly esteemed citiaens. The. deceased, who was only in her 24th year, leaves two young children, the youngest being only a few months old, and was of a bright and happy disposition and much beloved by all. For some months she has been in indifferent health, and in spite of every loving attention and the best skill fihe became wor«», arid wai» recently removed to the hospital, where ahe passed rather suddenly away as'stated. Much svmpathy is expressed for the bereaved relations and the motherless little oiies.
