KING GEORGE HOSPITAL, MANY IMPROVEMENTS REPORTED. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The. reports of the delegation appointed to investigate the complaints regarding provision for the treatment of returned soldiers at King

- o George V. Hospital, Rotorua, states that the immediate object of visiting the hospital .was to investigate complaints in regard- to the inadequacy of a rest room, a. comfortable recreation room, lack of hot water conveniences in .the .lavatories, and drying- rooms -fb-iywet- clothes.

The delegation found the comments quite justified, as only tire poorest makeshift; existed at the time of the complaints-.

The report continues: From the figures and from information we could obtain, we think that hospital accommodation ‘ and equipment for at least 1000 patients in all stages of treatment is the very least that should be immediately provided for the North Island. This should include first-class orthopaedic equipment.

Concerning such hospitals, the delegates express the opinion that they should all have a common rest room in. the hospital, in addition to any provision that may be made in adjacent buildings by patriotic in stitutious. They also say that the use of dining rooms for sitting rooms is inconvenient and not hygienic, and for these reasons alone should be discontinued.

The delegates declare their belief that questions of orthopaedic accommodation are vital and urgent matters which should be widely ventilated, so that public opinion may in - sist on adequate provision ’ beingmade for the prompt treatment of our returned soldiers.
