PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON This Day. At the Post and Telegraph Conference the President. Mr. Mclsaac, referred to the indebtedness of the Association to the late President, Mr. Whiting, who on his retirement carried with him the goodwill of all.
The chief item for consideration was reclassification. The injustice of the officers’ present position was apparent to all. While reel ossification would lead to improved enditions, the compulsory retirement of forty years’ service men on pension would produce greater benefits bv giving on inerniP-e to vounger officers to remain in the service.
