LIVICK. Corporal Edgar R. Livick (third son of Mr Henry Livick. the well-known West Coast traveller, of has been wounded in the face Corporal Livick is an old boy of Nelson College, and some years ago was a representative cricketer and footballer. Prior to leaving for the front he was on the ..or lington staff of Messrs Ross and Glendinning. WELCOME TO PRIVATE P. JOHNSTON. A welcome-home social was held at the Racecourse on Thursday evemng to do honour to Private P. Johnston. M Egden in extending a hearty welcome, congratulated the returned man on his long service at the Front, and hoped that ho would soon regai nhis former health, and be present to welcome many others whom they had farewelled. The speaker also feelingly referred to those who had made L supreme sacrifice. Private Johnston suitably replied in a few well-chosen words/ Dancingwas kept going merrily under the able direction of Mr W. Carse. The music was supplied by Miss a. Johnston (piano), Messrs Si gey (cornet) and Mclnroe (violin). A dainty supper was provided by the ladies and several were rendered during the ovening.
