Clutterbuck, aged 53 years and married, a surfaceman on the railway at Riversdale, was opt shooting rabbits yesterday. Returning he tripped com- i mg through a wire fence and shot himself through the forehead. 'He - was found lying face downwards,- the rifle being beneath him. FIRE IN OTAGO CLUB. DUNEDIN, This Day.—A policeman discovered a fire in the Otago Club at 3 a.m. to-day. He burst in the front door and roused tlie inmates numbering* 19. Tire fire originated in the upper floor and burnt through the. roof. The Brigade suppressed the fire in 15 minutes. There was considerable unavoidable damage by water and smoke, probably amounting Gto £(00 to £IOO. The building was owned by the Standard Insurance 1 Co. The club was insured for £2OOO. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. MAUTERTON, This Day.— Jack Henrys, liandicapper, was injured in a motor accident at Eketaliuna yesterday. He was admitted to the Masterton Hospital, where he dide late last night. C. Lamb, the other occupant', was also seriously injured, his arm being broken.
