WELLINGTON, This Day.* The Acting Finance Minister states that of loans amounting to <£28,000,G00 authorised in 1917, there remained £10,229,00P not raised. A fresh war loan of £9,500,000 was issued in March last and the subscriptions amounted to £lO,482,380, and the whole 1917 authorisation had now been oversubscribed by £253,135. COMPULSORY CLAUSES." TO BE PUT INTO OPERATION
WELLINGTON, This Day. The Acting Minister of Finance announces that the first batch of notices under the compulsory provisions of the Finance Act. relating to subscriptions to the War Loan, have been sent out. The indications are that the number will not be large. ’ N Lists of subscribers . are heinff scanned, and any who have not subscribed at all and who are apparently in a position to do sp will be sent notices.
