MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the Committee was. held on Monday evening.

A letter was received from the Town Clerk, Greymouth, in reply, stating that the matter of lighting Cobden been referred to the Public Works Engineer who> could find no ca.use for complaint. Over 300 books bad been brought in, and these will be of considerable value and assistance towards the creating of a. library, which was held over for consideration of the annual meeting of ratepayers and householders next month. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the sub-committee concerned. The secretary reported having forwarded to the County Council the quota, subscribed by ratepayers towards the deepening of Fox Street drain, and hfg action was endorsed. The work mentioned has since been attended *to.
