The names of the following West Coasters appear in the latest casualty lists : KILLED IN ACTION. (November 29). Michael Corcoran (Mrs S, Corcoran, mother). (November 30). John Scott (A. Scott, Hokitika, father). WOUNDED. (December 3). Win. Dutton (Mrs Seline Dutton, Millerton, mother). Thomas James Mullan (R. E. Mullan, Westport, father). Private William Young, awarded the Military Medal for gallantry on the field, is well known in Westport. He enlisted in Gisborne and left with the 18th Reinforcements. He is 20 years old. PRIVATE W. W. RALPH. Mrs S. E. Ralph, of Westport, has received the sad news that her son. Private W. A. Ralph, had been killed in action on December 3. Private Ralph (who sailed with the 14th Reinforcements) enlisted from the Westport Coal Company’s service ta Dcnniston. Pho deceased. who was only 24 years of age. was well known in Greymouth and Reefton. PRIVATE JOHN SCOTT. Mr Andrew Scott, of Tailored Street, Hokitika, has received word from the Minister of Defence on Wednesday nigbt that his youngest son. Private John Scott, had been killed in action on November 30tb. in France. The deceased was a native of Hokitika and was 24 "ears -f ; i(ro. He went with the 9th Reinforcements and had been wounded and in hospital for a lomr time. On recovering lie was offered Military Police duties tn Action but bo preferred lo go into tbc ino- line and declined tbe offer. He was outraged as a painter before leaving Hokitika, and "'ns a. real food son and popular with all who knew him.
