Hordinan, in the course oi justifying the recent search of buildings in Wellington, spoke of the danger from a hidden enemy by slackness. The Minister declared Unit something had beeiji discovered in the vicinity of tlie buildings searched which made a police investigation necessary. ]f he revealed the whole of the circumstances, the people and the House would agrees that a search was necessary in the interests of public safety. Ho'would see that such searches were conducted properly. The Minister complimented the workers of New Zealand for their !<»val service during the war. He der r':.n:d that much of the industrial trouble had been due to men being misled by mischievous agitators.
