The many friends of Mr J. Panclchurst, wlio is in Chiistch'urch, will regret to learn that-there'.-.is no in.piovement in hia condition. Mr and Mr J. Renton-Watt, who have been visiting Mr and Mrs W. R. Kettle, return to Wellington by Tuesday morning's Otira express. Dr Kennedy, administrator of the Christchurch diocese who has been on a visit to his parents, returned to Christchurch by this morning's express Mr C. Martinengo advance manager of the "Birth of a Nation" film, is at present in Greymouth arranging for the opening of a season through the Pollard circuit. The friends of Mr and Mrs Leo Bell, of Inangahua Landing, will regret to hear of Mrs Bell's death which took place on Thursday morning, after a short illness. The deceased lady had not been very robust for some time. Two of her young children developed pneumonia, and the young mother, nursing them while .not in good health herself, fell a victim to the same complaint, and passed away' at her bite residence. One of the children is making a good recovery whilst the other is still very ill. Mrs Bell, who was a daughter" of Mr and Mrs Milligan of Landing Creek", leaves a husband and several young children, the youngest being only a, few weeks old. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved families in their very sad loss. The funeral takeplace to-dav (Saturday), the deceased being laid to rest in the Inangahua Junction Cemetery.
