Tennent, was: missing. Subsequently it was reported that he was believed to bo a prisoner of war m Germany. Mr. Tennent made every attempt to ascertain whether his son was a prisoner in Germany, but was unable to do so. Last night’s wire has removed all doubt, and it ■now appeal* that Lieut. Tennent. was killed iu the. big- offensive at Messines. 'Hie late Lieut. Tennent was. only twenty-mic real’s of age. He was educated hi the Grcv District. High School, and was noted for Ids real, solid work as a pupil. The parents have the sympathy of all in their great loss. At yesterday's meeting of the Inaugaluia Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard, Mr. Letts made reference to the death of Sergeant Leslie Arnold, ef Throe-Channel Flat, and moved that a vote of sympathy to the family he recorded on the minutes. This was seconded by the chairman and carried.
