[Australian and N.z. Cable Association.] .Received this day at 8-45 a-m* SYDNEY, This Day. The Nationalists’ Senate bunch continues to maintain the lead in Queensland. In all the other States Nationalist hunches appear safe, though there are still a good many absentee and the whole of the soldiers’ votes to reckon with. For the House Mr Webster’s return is assured- Messrs Glynn and Mahon are still in doubt.
Mr O’Malley was defeated in Darwin, Tasmania, but another election will be necessary hero owing to Mr Howroyd’s death-
