PERSONAL NOTES.
A Nelson Press message announces the death of Mr Thomas Bell, Mayor of Richmond and Chairman of the Nelson Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, aged 60. ile was formerly a leading settler at Murchisoii.
Included in the latest casualty lists are the following:—Australian Forces: I'iivate W. Dunn, reported missing on April 11th (Mrs S. Dunn, Greymouth). Private S. Steele, progressing favourably (Mrs S. McGhee, Westport).—Our Wellington correspondent. There passed away an Tuesday last one of the oldest residents of New Plymouth in the person of Mrs Devenish, at the age of 87 years. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr Thomas Hirst, of New Plymouth, formerly of Halifax, Yorkshire. " Mr 3 Devenish became a widow comparatively early in life, and leaves two daughters and two sons to niorin their loss, namely, Mrs \V. 11. Skinner (formerly of New Plymouth anil now of Christehureh), Miss Devenish, the. Rev. J. M. Devenish (Tasmania), and Mr Win. Devenish (Collector of Customs at Nelson and formerly of Greymouth).
