Greyniouth, \ver« leported last night shortly after 8 o'clock by a young man who called at the police stati n and stated he had heard "n -noise" in the shop and had found the doors leading into the yard open. The young man in question had a look round the yard, but did not see anyone about. There was a large niece of meat on the floor of the shop, with knives and saw close by.
There was a hook in the' meat, suggesting that it had been taken down from the rack. The doors were found to be very insecure and could have been pushed open. The proprietor of the shop subsequently reported that nothing was missing from the premises.
