ADDINGTOM STOCK MARKET. WEST COAST LAMBS TOP THE MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, February 28. Messrs Mntson and Co. report as follows regarding the Addington sale todav:— Fat Cattle.—There was an average yarding, with a large proportion of cows, and some good steers. The market was equal to last week's, the freezing buyers getting the bulk. Best steers sold up to £2l 10s, others £l4 15s to £l7 ss; extra good heifers, to £l9 15s; best cows, to £l7 10s; others, £lO 10s to £l3 10s. Store Cattle,—A very large yarding. with the demand, if anything, easier. A large line of West 'Coast cattle were entered and sold at ruling prices. Eighteenmonths to two-year-old heifers realised £6 .12:-, Lo £6 16s; eighteen-months, mixed sexes, £6 to £7 14s 6d; yearlings, £4 2s Gd to £5 ss. Pat Sheep.—There was a fair yarding and quality irregular. The prices were about eqtval to last Wednesday. Rest wethers sold at 35s to 435, good wethers 31s to 345, light 28s to 30s; prime ewes 33s to 395, medium 28s to 325, light and unfinished 23s to 275. Store Sheep.—There was n large entry, two-thirds of which represented scourings from the outside counties. Whilst they reached last week's parity they were considerably more . difficult to effect. The position of the sheep market at present is regulated, not by requirements or Stocks (both of which are undoubted), but by the weather. Rest two-tooth ewes realised 30s to 37s 6d. sound month 26s to 30s 6d, crossbred ewes 37s 6d. good rape lambs 20s to 255. A line of West (.'oast lambs realised the latter price, and topped the store lamb market. Forward wethers r.o'ld at 27s to 29s 6d, forward ewes tor grazing 21s to 24*.
