Received this dav at 12.20 p.m. LONDON, February 27. Lord Ourzon read telegrams from General Maude stating that on tiie morning of February 25th the cavalry and infantry moved westward in pursuit of the retreating enemy. Strong Turkish rearguards, supported by artillery, occupied fresh positions fifteen miles west-north-west of ' Kut-el-Amara, evidently covering the withdrawal from Bughorlah. After an intense bombardment our infantry assaulted the position , and obtained a footing therein, while our cavalry operated round the Turkish northern flank. Many prisoners and numerous flocks, equipment ,and stores were captured.
