A telegram states that, there was a violent* rising up between Landwelu* and Lapdsturm in the fighting at Alsace. The old men with the Landstnrm refused to advance in great numbers and were arrested. 0i1"..-ini.—The struggL in Argonno continued stubbornly throughout the night. We maintained our positions and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. We repulsed two fresh attacks on the crests east of Metzeral. There is active cannonading in other parts of the front. Shells ■ fell on Arras, causing a few fires. Our aeroplanes w cessfully bombed the stations at C llerange, Zarrcn, and Langornavc, as well as the German batteries at Yimo and Beanrains. FRENCH OFFICIAL NEWS. PARTS, July 3. Official.—There were artillery duels at most points to-day in the quartet around Roone. 'Flic enemy, after the defeat of theif latest efforts, refrained from infantry attacks. GERMAN OFFICIAL NEWS. BERLIN, July 4. Official.-. -The French attack, prepared by hand grenades, near Les Eparges failed. We lost the positions captured on Hilsenfirst.
