THE MEXICAN WAR

LATEST CABLES

YANKEE CUTENESS. SLAUGHTER OF WOMEN. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] NEW YORK, May 29. Tt is 'understood that the arms and ammunition shipped by the German steamer to Mexico were actually supplied by United States manufacturers, who shipped them to Hamburg and thence reshipped them to Mexican Mexican ports. Thirty-five women, camp followers, were killed in the Paredon battle. The Constitutionalist soldiers executed twelve members of the military band and over 50 officers, including Porfirio Diaz's nerdiew.

After shooting the musicians the Constitutionalists enlisted those left alive, and compelled them to give a concert in honour of the victory.

The Peace Conference has arranged the transfer of the executive power in Mexico from President Huerta to an unnamed provisional president acting in conjunction' with four Cabinet Ministers. These will arrange new elections. The United States pledges recognition thereof, thus simplifying their task.

The Japanese cruiser is reported to be convoying an ammunition ship from Japan to Mexico. President Huerta ordered arms and. ammunition from Japan months ago. It- is understood that the American warships will not interfere.
