The Camphill Preventive Detention Prison is erecting two-roomed bungalows to use for specially privileged piisoners who have earned certificates of industry and good behaviour. These prisoners will be given garden allotments [or the cultivation of vegetables, which will be sold at prison market rates. The proceeds will be credited to the prisoners. FORCED MARCH A RECORD PERFORMANCE. LONDON, April 20. .Sixty-two London rifle brigadesmen territorials established a world's record by making a forced march from London to Brighton, a distance of 522 miles, in 14 hours 23 minutes. BERLIN, April 20Professor Hamaek, a theologian, speaking at the Evangelical Social Conference in Berlin, urged that if men, instead of hiding within themselves the best they possess, would communicate it to their neighbours, unspeakably rich capital would be bestowed upon national life.
