(Free Places.) !i The Education Department will awarC Junior Technical Scholarships, entitling) the holders to Free Places at the TECH- ,, NJCAL COLLEGE. These are gran- ' ted to hoys and girls who have obtained a Sixth Standard Certificate of proficiency (provided they were not over 15 years of age on the Ist December preceding the date of admission to a free place) or have one or other of the qualifications set out in Section 77 of the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction. Any young person who fulfils the jjj foregoing conditions, and who at the time of enrolment does not exceed the age of 16 years, is eligible for admission to the College. All ■ holders of Junior Free Places are entitled to Free Education at " i the Technical College for- a period of '" j two years, provided that attendance, con. , duct, diligence, and -progress are satisfac- j j tory. If parents so desire, instruction in Shorthand and Typewriting will bo given to pupils taking this course. COMMERCIAL COURSE FOR BOYS AND GIRLS. Instruction will be given in Shorthand. Typewriting, Precis-writing, Commercial Arithmetic, Commercial Correspondence, Bookkeeping, and Office Routine. The fact that over 100 students of all ages are at present attending the evening classes in these subjects is an indication that the need of expert instruction in commercial subjects is very generally felt.
