The proposal to raise a volunteer reserve of 50,000 in tTlster in order to give 100,000 volunteers with those already raised, has attained greater probability. Mr Redmond, in his speech at Waterford, said that the threats of civil war did not intimidate Mr Asquith who was as firm as a rock for Home Rule. ARMS FOR ULSTER. LONDON, January 27. The Customs at Londonderry seized a quantity of bandoliers and haversacks consigned to a former Unionist parliamentary candidate. A SYDNEY PROTEST. SYDNEY, This' Day. At a big Protestant demonstration resolutions were carried expressing loyalty to the Throne, solemnly protesting against the establishment of Homo Rule in Ireland, and pledging themselves to stand by their compatriots in Ulster and in other parts of Ireland in the desperate defence now forced upon them. A copy of the resolution is io be forwarded to the King.
