Sir, —With your permission I would like to give a flat denial to a rumour that is ! being circulated out here that 1 am the author of two letters that were recently!! published in the columns of the "Star" and signed "Not one of the Mob." I ami) not the author, nor do I know anything j j regarding the letters. At the same time j j I believe that whoever tJie correspondent \ j may be he has summed up the position j j very accurately indeed, and uqm] never be j ] ashamed of the attitude he has taken up. I f I would like the writer to "come to light" 1f and let your numerous readers know | | whether I know anything regarding theji above or not. I think that most people j l here know my opinion of the mob, which i I is not very favourable, I can assure you j 1 up to the present time, but I feel sure,!! now that we are back to work, everything j 1 is going to be different. No more strikes, ' no more Maoriktnd Workers, and no more I j Federation of Labour to support. The I miners out here are looking ahead to more I orosperous times than ever. I may say well don't mind levying ourselves at any "time || ;o long as we know what is becoming of | the money, which 1 contend we have never f. known up to the nresent time.
