r J’he Chairman of the School Committee (Mr Algie) addressed the children for a few minutes, and in the course of his remarks stated how sorry the Committee felt at not being able to give every child a prize. Irving, C. R. Davis and himself standing as guarantors .'that he (Mr Wickes) would be repaid. On behalf of the Committee he wished to tender his most hearty appreciation of the excellent manner in which the headmaster and his staff of teachers had worked during the year in the interests of the pupils attending the school. (Cheers from the children.) The speaker went on to refer to the splendid average attendance that h"d been maintained during tho year. The attendance had an average of 208 per day for the whole year.
