SUCCESSFUL WEST COASTERS.

He is private trainer for Mr D: H: Rtiborts, well kiioAvn ill the Nbrth Islaiid and on the West Coast. At the C.J.C. summei meeting Kilmney scored in the Hornbj Welter,'of 150 sovs, seven furlongs. A 1 Riccarton, in the autumn, The Cornet-was ! runner-up to Masterpiece, in the Sock■burn Handicap, one mile and a quarter, and won the Final Handicap, one mile. Kilmeny was beaten in the Courtenay Welter, one mile, by Thrax, to whom he was conceding 71b. On the concluding day of the Ashburton meeting The Cornet scored hi the Autumn Handicap, of 170 sovs., one mile, beating the consistent Special Form, who has acted as mnner-up in the last three races she contested, j Waikehua has proved a profitable purchase to the West Coast owner4,rainer, W. Donnellan. At. the Christmas meetings he started six times, winning on four occasions, and being once second and third. He won £455 in stakes. He was afterwards sent across to Riccarton, and became a stable mate of Kilmeny and The Cornet. At the Canterbury Summer meeting ho was unplaced in a race won by Kilmeny. At the Dunedin Cup meeting he picked up a stake. His form at Timaru a fortnight ago was hardly correct, as ho failed to get placed either day. F, D. Jones again rode him at Ashburton where he picked up a stake on the second day. Waikehua is a full brother to Hydraulic, who raced in the colours of Mr F. Pitt, the Stratford sportsman, and half-brother to Bounce, No Trumps, Ultimatum, and Semaphore. His dam was the peculiar-named Hine-Nui-te-po, a daughter of Namoa, who' carried the colours of Mr Spencer Gollan with success as a two-year-old, and was afterwards mated with Carlyon, the Australian Cup winner.
THE KUMARA CLUB,
A special meeting of the District Committee of the Greymouth Metropolitan district will be heid at the club room, Albion Hotel. Greymouth, this evening, at 8.30 o'clock. (1) To receive and deal (in .accordance with Rules 8 and 9, part XXXI. Rules of Racing) with the decision of the Judicial Committee of the Kumara Racing Club, given on the 24th day of March, 1913, in the matter of the protest of C. R. Williams in connection wtih the Dillman's Handicap, which decision imposed fines of £4 and £2O respectively on the jockeys C. Mussen and T. Trask. (2). To "appoint a representative or representatives' of the Greymouth Metropolitan Club to act at the Racing Conference to be held in July, 1913.. CRICKET. ENGLISH COUNTY MATCHES. LONDON, May 13. Middlesex, which made 166 runs, beat Hampshire, which made 51 and 79. Tarrant took eurht wickets for 20. Lancashire, which were 130, beat Yorkshire, which secured 74 and 43. Heap bowled 6 wickets for 19, and 5 for 23.
