MORE SUPERVISION WANTED,
BRITAIN’S BETTER POPULATION, LONDON, November 1.
Dealing with the subject of British emigration, “The Times,” in a leading article today, writes: ‘■Government inducements to emigrants should, perhaps, be more carefully- supervised than is at present the case. But, with that reservation, we would not retard in any way the activities which have borne so much fru’t. “The real necessity of Great Britain lies elsewhere. It consists in opening up, by every means in her power, better prospects for the poorer classes at home. We can keep our better population. ff we try, and the dominions can still find ample material for their needs in the classes which they now repel.”
