THE MILLERTON SYNDICATE
DISCOVER ANOTHER REEF AT WAIUTU. The Millerton Syndicate, which has for Home time been carrying on prospecting operations with a deal of success at Waintii, has now made a new discovery in the uncovering of a reef 18ft. in width, showing valuable prospects, and situated on the northern boundary of their claim and quite apart from the reef previously worked on. This new find will considerably enhance the nature of the property, and it is estimated that only an 80ft. cross-cut will need to be driven to secure a I,oooft. of backs on the 18ft. reef, which offers no difficulties in the way of successful working, being easily accessible and favourably (situated. The syndicate has now driven 290 ft. on No. 1 reef, which has an average width of 3ft.. and according to a managerial assay at Reefton will yield an average of to the ton. This reef in itself is as valuable as any reef yet found in the Blackwater district, and together with the latest development in the unearthing of the large reef above referred to, should make the Millerton Syndicate's claim a very valuable one indeed.
