MIRACULOUS ESCAPE
THE BOMB THAT FAILED
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, July 1. While filling the "Thunderer's" magazine at Devonport, a 13.5-inch shell slipped from the sling and foil thirty feet to the floor of the magazine. The horrified crew rushed to a distance, but though the fuse was dented the shell did not explode. It would have destroyed the ship. Work had to be suspended to enable the men to recover from the shock.
