CHURCH ENTERTAINMENTS
[TO THE EPITOH.] .Sir, —When'one hears so much, condemnation from sunie of the churches n regard to theatricals, it would hardly be expected that a church would, in a certain sense, break out in this line itself. Yet one of the churches in the Reefton district is making -a name for itself in this respect with , something like three performances to its cred’t since Christmas, including a bazaar extending over three days. It now .announces a “musical carnival” in June, for which certain well-known Greymouth professionals have been engaged. This shows a pretty lively pursuit of the nimble shilling, and if our picture show proprietors don’t watch themselves they are likely to be ousted from business. I am, etc., REEFTONITE.
