‘ 1 the Conference of Surveyort-Gen-eral of Australia and New Zealand the Hon. O’Malley, in opening the Conference, declared that he was specially gratified that New Zealand was represented. His own opinion was that New Zealand would ultimately become part of the Commonwealth, but if this would have the effect of arresting the march towards Democracy, he would rather she did not, become a partner in the Com men wealth.
