Bidding was keen all round., Light conditioned lustrous wool met with a particularly ready sale. The prices all round were considered very satisfactory. A shilling was the top price realised so far.

HASTINGS, This Day.—A meeting was held in Hastings yesterday afternoon for the purpose of forming a branch of the New Zealand Sports Protection League. Sixty were present representing all branches of sport. It was decided to form a Hawke’s Bav centre. There are stated to he 10.000 members of the League in Hawke’s Bay. The .election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr. G. P. Donnelly; Vice-Presidents, Messrs E. H. Williams, F. L. Logan, Geo. Hunter, M.P., Frank Gordon, G. R. King, H. M. Campbell, M.P., R. D. McLean, Leonard Storey and W. H. Hartgill.
