The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 66 degrees, and the minimum for the night was 48 degrees. At nine o’clock this morning the temperature was 58 degrees. The barometer registered 29.89. WEATHER REPORTS. Westport.—Wind, west, light; barometer, 29.83; thermometer, 56 degrees; tides moderate; bar smooth. Greymouth.—Wind, east, light; barometer, 29.88; thermometer, 56 degrees; tides moderate; bar smooth. WEATHER FORECASTS. Last evening the Dominion Meteorologist telegraphed the following weather, summary and forecast : “Moderate to strong westerly and southerly voids have prevailed and rain has fallen in most parts of the country. The weather has been cool and changeable, but ~n-proving proving to-day, with a rising barometer. Present indications are for moderate southerly winds, backing to vest vrJy, and northerly winds after about sixteen hours, and increasing everywhere. The weather will probably be warmer and fair for a short time, hut a Storin' area lias developed to the westward and a change is probable in sixteen hours, with a falling barometer everywhere, especially in the south.” Rev. .D. C. Bates wired at noon as follows “Westerly moderate to strong winds prevailing, squally at times and winds freshening. Expect unsettled, cloudy and hazy weather increasing and rain probably following ; glass fall; tides good ; sea moderate, but sea increasing after twenty hours.”
