THE WESTLAND ELECTION.
SPLENDID RECEPTION IN SUNNY SOUTH. (Published by arrangement). Mr T. E. Y. Seddon had a capital reception all long the Southern route yesterday, when travelling into South Westland. • His candidature is particularly popular in that quarter, and it is evident that he will poll very strongly. The. political meeting at Hari Hari last, night was a triumph. It was a great meeting from every point qf view. The attendance was large and the reception extremely cordial. Mr G. S. Roberston was chairman. Mr Seddon’s address was splendidly received, ringing applause punctuated the whole speech. • 1 Mr S. Wall moved a vote of thanks,'; and confidence. ' Mr W r . Witiskie seconded the motion which was carried amid renewed ‘ cheering. A jolly social followed. The dancing was interspersed with songs and recitations and the festivities kept up till a very late hour. When Mr Seddon left at an early hour this morning a number of settlers assembled and cheered lustily as he drove further into the sunny south.
