—- NATIVES PERFECTLY SATISFIED. [BT TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, This Day. The alleged dissatisfaction of the natives with the local administration of the Cook Islands appears to have no foundation in fact. The natives informed Sir Robert Stout and Mr. Waldegrave that they were perfectly satisfied with the administration of the Resident Commissioner, Captain Smith; They expressed the hope that Captain Smith would remain there. FOUND GUILTY. W. J. Wigmore was found guilty of the manslaughter of a native. The case lasted three days- Wigmore was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and ordered to leave the Islands.
