THE A.M.P. SOCIETY
This morning throughout the Commonwealth of Australia and the Dominion of New Zealand the members of the Australian Mutual Provident Society received the Bonus certificates for the year ending 31st December, 1910. The cash surplus available for distribution is £839,602, which sum will provide reversionary additions to the policies amounting to £1,500,000. Such a result speaks ■o]nines for the careful and economical management of this great institution, the name of which has now become a household word throughout the Commonwealth and the Dominion.
The issue of the Bonus Certificates is coincident with the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of the New Zealand branch of the Society and the success that has been achieved in the Dominion can only be described as phenomenal. On the Ist July, 1871, when the branch was established, the total policies on the books were 1,045 assuring £496,790, and there were at the 31st December last 40,498 policies in force on the Branch books assuring £11,235,959 which with Bonus additions of £2,404,113 makes a total assurance of £13,640,082 equal to nearly £l4 per head of the total popuation of the Dominion.
We heartily congratulate the members on the success of their office.
