Both were rowing at forty strokes to the minute. It was a hard race to the threequarter mile post where Pearce was leading by a length. Then the weight and superior skill of Pearce told. He increased his lead,'and was never afterwards troubled. The judge's verdict made the win one of twenty lengths. The time was twenty minutes," forty five seconds. Referring to the result of yesterday's sculling race, the "Sun" says that Pearce is up to world's championship form, and should get a chance of tackling Arnst without delay.
