The Kennedy is due from Wellington, via way ports, this evening, and sails tonight for Westport and Foxton. The Kaitoa leaves Wellington to-day for Greymouth, via way ports, and is due on Wednesday. The Holmdale sailed yesterday for Lyttelton with a cargo of timber. The Petone arrived yesterday from Nydia Bay to complete loading timber for Sydney. She will probably sail on Thursday. The Ngahere arrived this morning from Wellington. She sails, on this evening's tide for Wellington. The Ngatoro is due on Tuesday from Lyttelton. She sails the same night for Wellington. The Ennerdale is due from Lyttelton this afternoon. She loads timber. The Defender is due this afternoon from Picton. She loads timber. The Holmdale leaves Lyttelton on Friday for Greymouth.

The Himitangi left Picton to-day for Greymoutli. The Arahura arrives this afternoon and sails for Wellington at five o'clock to-mor-row morning. The Kotuku sails for Lyttelton to-mor-row, coal laden.

The Waipori is loadinrr timber for Sydney, and will sail about the end of the week.

T. Norton. Mr E. D. lies, late of the Koonya, is chief officer: Mr A. L. Paton, late of the Koromiko, second, and Mr G. Thy.ne third. , The Kaiapoi has gone to Westport to load coal for the warships at Sydney. The Kurow is on her way from Wellington, to Kaiparn to load timber for Sydney. Mr W. J. Whaite, chief engineer c?f the Haupiri, has gone on leave. The second and third engineers were promoted a step, and Mr R. Struthers joined as third. There were fourteen steamers of the Union Comany's fleet in Wellington harbour on Tuesday. Of that number, only two, the Tavinni and Takapuna, were laid up.. The Norwegian barque Hjordis, which left Lyttelton'on April 6th for Westport, has been chartered to load coal at the West Coast port for South Sea Islands. She will then proceed to Surprise Island to load phosphates for New Zealand. The barque Matanra. also owned in-Norway, will load a similar freight at Seychelles Island for these waters.
