ADOPiiOJ IN UNITED STATES HOUSE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY. [I H PRKS9 ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] WASHINGTON, April 23. The deciding vote has been taken in the United States House of Representatives on the Canadian reciprocity measure. The House has adopted -the proposals by an overwhelming majority, the vote in favour of the Bill being two hundred and sixty-five, and that against eighty-nine, a majority of 176. The majority of the Republicans voted, against the Bill, with ten of the Democrats. The minority fought bitterly against the Bill. The Republicans strove to pass several amendments, but without the slightest success. Finally the Republicans moved the whole of the farmers' free tariff list proposals which the Democrats are pledged to carry. ' The Democrats defeated the move of their opponents, explaining at the same time that they would pass the farmers free list proposals when the Free List Bill was formally before the House. The Democratic Leader, Mr Underwood, declared that the farmers' free list would become law, or else the President or the Senate who rejected it would never be heard from again. OTTAWA, April 23.
