GERMAN REPRESSIVE MEASURES. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, Feb. 23. The latest news of the native rebellion in the island of Pondope, in the Carolines, shows that it is still progress though it is apparently drawing to a close. The rebels ammunition has been giving out, and they are using nails and glass m place of bullets against the German punitive expedition. The Germans have captured 281 prisoners. The Germans had a naval officer ,and petty officer, and live New Guinea police killed, and a naval officer wounded.

LATER.—Besides taking the prisoners, the German expedition shot many of the Ponape rebels.
